现任软银亚洲投资基金首席合伙人、软银亚洲信息基础投资基金总裁。软银亚洲（赛富）投资基金(SAIF)是一家拥有10.4亿美元的创业投资基金，主要致力于投资亚太地区的电信业、传媒业以及IT高科技领域。

1995年1月至2001年10月，阎焱任美国拥有27亿美元资产的AIG亚洲基础设施投资基金董事总经理,主管在东北亚及大中国地区的投资业务。2001年10月至今，阎焱任职于软银亚洲投资基金。阎焱目前担任中国风险投资协会理事，中国海洋石油服务公司、四通电子有限公司（二者均为香港证券交易所上市公司）以及东方通信公司（在上海证券交易所上市）的独立董事。阎焱曾获得多项荣誉，其中包括“2004年度中国最佳创业投资人”，“2005年中国十佳创业投资人”。其所领导的赛富（SAIF）基金也被中国风险投资协会评选为“2004年度最佳创业投资机构”，“2005年最活跃创业投资基金”，“2005年最佳融资基金”。SAIF在盛大娱乐互动有限公司的投资于2003被评选为“年度最佳投资案例”，并于2004年被评选为“年度最佳退出案例”。2006年二月，SAIF更被世界著名的Private Equity International 评选为“2005年亚洲最佳投资基金”。

Andrew Yan is the Managing Partner of SB Asia Investment Fund II and Softbank Asia Infrastructure Fund (SAIF), the US$1.04 billion growth capital funds that focus on telecom, media, and technology sectors in Asia Pacific region. Mr. Yan was a Managing Director and the Head of the Hong Kong Office for Emerging Markets Partnership, the Principle Advisor to the $2.7 billion (US) of AIG Asian Infrastructure Funds during Jan. 1995 - Oct. 2001. He has been in his current position since Oct. 2001.

Mr. Yan's many honors include the University Scholarship, Mellon Prize and University Honorific Scholarship from Princeton University, 1989 and 1990 respectively; the Top Honorary Prize from Beijing University, 1985. Under Mr. Yan's leadership, SAIF's investment in Shanda Interactive Entertainment (SNDA) has been named " the Investment of the Year" by China venture capital industry in 2003. SAIF was voted as "VC Firm of the Year" and Mr. Yan was elected as "Venture Capitalist of the Year" in 2004 and "Top Ten Venture Investors in 2005" by China venture capital association.

Mr. Yan is currently a governor of the Chinese Venture Capital Association. He is an independent director of China National Offshore Oil Service Corporation and Stone Electrics (both listed at Hong Kong Stock Exchange); and China Eastcom (listed in Shanghai Stock Exchange).
